Why you need a Resume
Think of your next job as a big football game and your resume as the ticket.
If you don't have a resume, you can't get in. Depending on its quality, you
may have a ticket to a front row seat on the 50-yard line, or one that puts
you in the "nose bleed" seats. In other words, you don't just need a resume
-- you need a strong resume.
A resume is the way to communicate who you are to a potential employer. Your
resume must convince the employer that you will contribute -- that you will
help the company's performance and profitability if they hire you. The employer
will see your resume before they will ever see you, so it must do the talking
for you. Before a company will ask you to interview for a position, they will
want to evaluate your professional background, education, and skills by examining
your resume. If your resume does not make the employer confident that you're
qualified for the job, you will not get an interview. No interview, no job.
That's why your resume is arguably the single most important aspect of your
job-hunting campaign.
Have you ever thought to yourself: "If only I could get my foot in the door...If
they interviewed me, they'd realize I'm perfect for the job."? If you have,
then you understand the importance of a good resume, since it is your resume
that gets your foot in the door. You may as well make it easy on yourself and
put the effort into developing a sparkling resume. Of course, resume writing
is no easy task. But this software should take a lot of the pain out of the
process. Who knows? You may even have fun!
